Andy Scotts Sweet
Ballroom Blitz
Sweet is a success story that begins in 1970. When Brian Connolly and Mick Tucker formed "Sweetshop", later shortened to "The Sweet", little did they know what lay ahead. They recruited Steve Priest on bass. After four singles which failed to make the charts the band were at a crossroads, almost at the point of splitting when Andy Scott, joined. The year was 1970 and the "Classic" Sweet line up was complete.

'Funny Funny' - 'CoCo' - 'Poppa Joe' the band's first hits then along came the Glam Rock era and more hits followed - "Little Willy" - "Wig Wam Bam" and "Blockbuster!" reached the number one spot in the UK, and yet more hits appeared, "Hellraiser", "Ballroom Blitz", "Teenage Rampage", "The Six Teens" and "Turn It Down" followed by 'Fox on the run' a hit in America .

Over the years the band went through various line-up changes and the untimely death of founder Brian Connolly in 1977, but Andy Scott remains at the helm and has guided the band ever since even achieving a Ivor Novello nomination for 'Love Is Like Oxygen' written by Scott and Trevor Griffin.
The band are as busy as ever today constantly touring in Germany, Sweeden The USA , Canada and Australia as well as here the UK
