The World first herd of Mungo Jerry in May 1970 when he appeared at the legendary Hollywood Festival alongside Black Sabbath - Traffic - Free and The Grateful dead amongst others. The song that is most associated with Mungo Jerry is the global hit In 'The Summertime', which Mungo wrote himself under his real name of Ray Dorset. In the summertime sold over six million copies worldwide in the first six months of release and that total to date is now estimated to be over a staggering thirty million. And is now recognised as the most played summer song of all time. Winning for Ray a prestigious Sony / ATV award and an Ivor Novello song writing award.

These days Mungo Jerry plays major blues and Jazz festivals all over the world, where he performs his own compositions which are a brand of rock, psychedelic blues and American Folk, as well as some of his many hits including of course the big hit 'In The Summertime'
